The vocational conference titled “TVET Partnership: Shaping the Future of Indonesia’s Vocational System” aims to bring together all partner stakeholders—including government ministries, the private sector, public and private associations, TVET institutions, and other relevant entities—who have collaborated on the revitalization of the TVET system. Through this event, GIZ seeks to underscore the importance of TVET within the national agenda for boosting Indonesia's productivity and competitiveness and to foster cooperation in addressing human development challenges. The event also aims to showcase the achievements of the TSR 2.0 Project—including the approaches and instruments developed in partnership—and to officially hand them over to relevant ministries and institutions for continued, sustainable use, as well as to discuss best practices and lessons learned regarding how to capitalize on future employment opportunities, such as "Green Jobs" and digital transformation within TVET.

Efforts to enhance human resources in the vocational sector have long been underway, employing a variety of approaches. Workforce demands are intensifying due to technological advancements and global trends. Indonesia must respond to these labor market needs and effectively leverage its demographic bonus to realize the vision of "Golden Indonesia 2045." The government is driving improvements in human resource quality through Presidential Regulation No. 68 of 2022 (issued on April 27, 2022) regarding the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Training; this regulation led to the establishment of the National Vocational Coordination Team (TKNV) and the National Strategy for the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Training (Stranas Vokasi). Subsequently, regional governments have responded to this regulation by forming Regional Vocational Coordination Teams (TKDV); to date, 22 provincial-level and 11 regency/city-level TKDVs have been established. These matters are being examined in depth during this conference.

This was followed by a progress report on the TSR 2.0 project. The event also featured the official handover of the TVET system development to the Indonesian government.
